About
As you enter the City of San Fernando along the scenic, palm-lined Brand Boulevard, you're welcomed into a community rich in nearly 200 years of California history. Named after a Spanish saint and king, San Fernando was one of the first areas settled in the region, long before the rest of Los Angeles took shape. The city’s roots trace back to the Mission San Fernando Rey de España, whose elegant archways still stand as a testament to its past.
Today, San Fernando is a vibrant blend of tradition and progress. What was once farmland and ranchland surrounding the Mission has evolved into a dynamic hub of manufacturing and commerce. Nestled against the panoramic San Gabriel foothills, the city offers a sense of privacy and small-town charm, yet it's just minutes from downtown Los Angeles and other major business centers, with easy access via nearby freeways and airports.
San Fernando uniquely combines modern conveniences with a tight-knit, civic-minded community. The city takes pride in offering responsive public services, accessible local government, a skilled labor force, a lower business tax rate than Los Angeles, and no utility tax, making it both a welcoming home and a smart place to do business.
